What’s your plan to vote?

Plan to vote

By Clare Gravon • JFCS Food Security Program Coordinator

While many of us enjoy the ritual of voting with others in our community on Election Day, this year is different.  If you want to avoid the crowds at your polling place on Nov. 3, here’s what you need to know:

Absentee/Early In-Person Voting

Your returned ballot must be postmarked on or before Election Day (Nov. 3, 2020) and received by your county within the next seven calendar days (Nov. 10).

  • Until Monday, Nov. 2, you can walk into your County Election Office/s, request an absentee ballot, fill it out onsite, and submit your ballot onsite. If you haven’t registered, you will do that first, then receive an absentee ballot (bring ID). If you’ve already received an absentee ballot in the mail, you can fill it out and personally deliver it to your County Election Office rather than putting it in the mail.  Some counties and municipalities have drop-boxes so you don’t even have to leave your car.
