Join the J-Pride community on Wednesday, May 28 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. for an opportunity to dive into our queer Jewish histories.
Together, will will explore the rich archives and special collections housed in Elmer L. Andersen Library at the University of Minnesota. Aiden Bettine, Curator of the Tretter Collection in GLBT Studies, and Kate Dietrick, Archivist of the Upper Midwest Jewish Archives, will pull materials from their respective collections. We will view unique archival materials documenting local Jewish history, queer history, and Jewish queer history, as well as tour the underground storage caverns and explore the building’s exhibits.
We will close with a J-Pride social to nosh on snacks and refreshments, connect with each other, and share our visions for the future. As we approach J-Pride’s 20-year founding anniversary, JFCS’ outgoing CEO Judy Halpern will reflect on the program’s founding and the inspiring impact of J-Pride in our community. Thank you for being part of the J-Pride story.
May is Jewish American Heritage Month, and June is Pride Month, so we hope you will join us for this event that will celebrate both!
