Your Guide to Pride 2019

J-Pride is hosting numerous activities in June

It’s almost time for Twin Cities Pride this June and J-Pride is hosting numerous events throughout the month to celebrate! J-Pride is a program of Jewish Family and Children’s Service of Minneapolis’ (JFCS) that engages Minnesota-based Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Queer (LGBTQIA+) Jews and their allies to come together as a community, and support Jewish institutions as they become more inclusive and accessible.

J-Pride is offering numerous opportunities to celebrate Pride month, including:

Annual Pride Happy Hour – 6 p.m. Tuesday, June 11, at Urban Growler Brewing (2325 Endicott St, St. Paul). Join us on Urban Growler’s patio for a delicious happy hour at the first woman-owned brewery in Minnesota! There will be a nosh, alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, and plenty of old and new friends! There will be a brief program, optional activities, and lots of time to enjoy Pride month together!

Kabbalat Shabbat Pride Service – 6:15 p.m. Friday, June 14, at Mayim Rabim Congregation, which holds services at 4401 York Ave S, Minneapolis. Join J-Pride and our friends at Mayim Rabim Congregation for a soulful evening prayer service that celebrates Pride. Followed by a dairy and vegetarian potluck, we’ll gather to hear voices from our community and welcome Shabbat in style!

Under the Rainbow: Shabbat at Pride – 10 a.m. Saturday, June 22, on the Rainbow Stage in Loring Park in Minneapolis. Come to Shabbat morning ASL-interpreted worship services at Pride and be your whole self. Together, we will celebrate Shabbat in Loring Park in proud, pluralistic, queer, Jewish community. This is the first time we’ve held a Shabbat service on the stage in Loring Park and we cannot wait to sing, daven, read Torah, and celebrate with all of you!

March in the Ashley Rukes Pride Parade – Sunday, June 23. Join J-Pride and other communal partners to march in the annual Pride Parade! Bring a water bottle, comfy clothes, signs, and lots of joyous ruach! We cannot wait to see you on Hennepin Avenue celebrating! Sign up to join us here.
