JFCS will host a new Grief and Loss support group this summer. It will be a six-week psychoeducation and discussion group for those who recently experienced the death of a loved one (within the past two years). It will be held 5-6:30 p.m. Wednesdays, July 31, through Sept. 4, at JFCS (5905 Golden Valley Rd., Golden Valley).
JFCS Therapists Samantha Shepherd, MSW, LICSW, and Michel Rousseau, MSW, LICSW, will co-facilitate the group. It will focus on empowering folks in their grief experience through education, knowledge, and connection. Psychoeducational in nature, each week will have a specific area of focus and learning of a principle of grief. Additionally, there will be time for self-reflection and connection with others. The cost is $150.
