Difficult Conversations Learning Series: Session 1

Tue Sep 16 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm

Teens, Tech and the Law: Navigating Relationships in the Digital Age
Tuesday, Sept. 16, from 7 – 8:30 p.m.
JFCS – 5905 Golden Valley Rd, Golden Valley

Today’s teens live in a digital world—and that brings new challenges when it comes to relationships, communication, and consent. How can we help them stay safe and informed?

Join Minneapolis criminal attorneys Ashley Heaney and Hannah Martin as they unpack the legal risks young people may face in their online and offline relationships. With over 30 years of combined experience, Ashley and Hannah will offer expert insight and actionable advice to help families:

  • Understand current laws and digital risks
  • Talk openly with teens about consent and online behavior
  • Prevent legal trouble before it starts

This event is ideal for parents, caregivers, educators, and anyone supporting teens in today’s world.

Upcoming Sessions

  • Financial scams and frauds: Staying safe at any age – Oct. 21
  • Navigating political disagreements with loved ones – Nov. 5
  • Compassionate concern: Talking to your loved one about addiction – Jan. 14

This series is designed to empower families with tools to strengthen communication, stay up to date of current topics and challenges, build resilience, and stay connected in a complex world.

We hope you will join us for one or all of the sessions. Cost is $30 per session or all sessions for $50.
We do not want cost to be a barrier to attendance; no-cost options to attend are available.
