Though we always hope the crisis services we offer and our expertise in trauma care will never be needed, it is important to remember that when the unthinkable occurs, Jewish Family and Children’s Service of Minneapolis can be a resource to you. The recent mass shooting at Annunciation Church and School was a sad reminder that the places we should consider to be among the safest – schools and places of worship – are places of vulnerability, and will remain so as long as access to automatic weapons is a reality.

JFCS therapists and educators are thoughtful and highly trained in trauma informed treatment. Our staff has been called to action when serious accidents, situations, or untimely deaths have occurred in our community. We have provided support and resources to students, school staff, parents, camp counselors, and other professionals. We know how to address grief and trauma, and we offer ideas and tools for managing all types of situations.

As we always say in our marketing campaigns, “Just Call JFCS.” Our message is meant to convey that you don’t need to know what or who to ask for – just leave that to us. Of course, applying the message to situations we hope to never encounter is also our intention. If you or anyone you know is in need of care, compassion, and professional support at this time, “Just Call JFCS.” We are Here for all. Always.
