PRISM seeks kid-friendly food donations for Summer Hunger campaign
JFCS is helping PRISM food shelf stock the Summer Snack Shack and let kids be kids over the summer!
Now that school is out for the summer, 7,000 children in PRISM’s service area can no longer rely on the free-and-reduced meal programs provided through their school. Families that already struggle to make ends meet during the school year face additional strain during the summer…and too many kids don’t get the food they need to be healthy and grow.
JFCS is responding to this need by supporting PRISM’s ‘Campaign Against Summer Hunger.’ During the summer months, families with school-age children receive additional kid-friendly foods on top of the groceries they receive during a regular visit to PRISM’s Marketplace.
Together, we can make sure every child gets the awesome summer they deserve without worrying about whether their plate will be empty. Please donate kid-friendly foods (see list of suggested food items below) to PRISM ( 730 Florida Ave. S., Golden Valley). The kid-friendly campaign runs from now until Aug. 31. Questions?
