Jewish Youth Mentoring Program’s Featured Mentee: Stella, 11

Stella enjoys theater, camp activities, bowling, rollerblading, “The Avengers” and more!

After our success with finding a match for our first Featured Mentee, we are eager to do the same for Stella!

Stella is a brand new participant in the Jewish Youth Mentoring Program. She is eager to connect with a teen or young-at-heart adult as a mentor, which Stella describes as someone who is “like a tutor, but for life.” She is seeking someone who is a good listener and willing to talk. Sharing experiences and conversation with this engaging, intelligent 11-year-old is sure to be a blast for a lucky mentor!

Stella lives in Eagan with her mom and their two dogs. She is in sixth grade at Friendly Hills Middle School, where she is a member of the LIVEGREEN environmental club. Stella also participates in the All Children’s Theater at the St. Paul JCC. During the summer, she attends both Camp Butwin and Herzl Camp. Her favorite camp activities are horseback riding and pottery, both of which she’d like to do more of in the off-season.

Stella is an avid Avengers fan; she even named her Doberman after the character Thanos! Some of her favorite shows to binge on Netflix are Stranger ThingsRiverdale, and Good Girls. Like many youth her age, Stella’s favorite hobby right now is watching TikTok videos. She checks out all kinds of accounts to learn about a wide range of topics, from make-up tips to marine biology. Stella has even mastered several of the viral dances featured on the social media app, as she will gladly demonstrate for you! She also enjoys crafts, such as “diamond painting” kits.

Stella would enjoy doing things with a mentor like seeing a movie, window shopping at the mall, bowling, rollerblading, or seeing a performance (she recently caught the musical Six, as well as Blue Man Group).
