JFCS will host a three-part Addiction and Recovery Summer Series designed for parents, caregivers, and community members who want to better understand and respond to real-life addiction and recovery topics. These expert-led sessions will tackle tough topics head-on, providing practical guidance, up-to-date information, life-saving skills, and realistic strategies for discussion and support of loved-ones. Each session addresses a topic; participants can choose to attend one session, or all three.

The first session, Raising Awareness, Reducing Harm: Understanding Today’s Drug Trends will be held on Wed., June 25 – Explore emerging drug trends, learn ways to identify commonly used drugs and their impact, and discuss what your kids are being exposed to. It will also include Q-&-A with expert presenter, Justin McNeal of Begin Anew Recovery.
Justin serves as the Executive Director at Begin Anew Recovery, embodying the belief that there is no single “right or wrong” path to recovery. With personal experience in both recovery and the justice systems, he has spent the past six years developing innovative Peer Recovery Support programs tailored for justice-impacted individuals seeking recovery.
