Help make a difference this holiday season with the Hag Sameach program
By Mindy Teele • Hag Sameach Coordinator
The Hag Sameach program helps hundreds of individuals and families in our community celebrate the holidays. Whether you are someone in need of a confidential referral to the program, a donor, or volunteer, Hag Sameach is a great opportunity to feel connected to the Jewish community. We want to make sure that everyone experiences the happiness of the holiday season!
- If you are having hardships in celebrating the holidays – whether it is due to financial difficulties, medical reasons, isolation, or something else – JFCS is here for you! Either click this link for a self-referral form or call 952-546-0616. JFCS’ Intake & Resource Coordination staff can connect you to the Hag Sameach program to receive gifts and ritual items for individuals and families in a confidential manner. You are also welcome to contact your synagogue and get a referral through synagogue staff.
- Donations to Hag Sameach make a meaningful impact on the community around you. Click this link for more information on how to donate a new gift, or make a monetary contribution that will be used to purchase gifts. Although gift donations are accepted throughout the year, gifts for this upcoming holiday season are needed by Nov. 19.
- If you would like to volunteer for the program, there are a variety of ways to participate! Whether you choose a remote volunteering experience or want to come into the JFCS office, your safety is our priority and we have strict health protocols in place. Click this link for details on the many volunteer opportunities, with easy access to sign up.
For more information on the program, please contact me (see contact info below). This program is a confidential way to provide ritual items and gifts to those who would otherwise not have the opportunity to celebrate the holidays. Help make sure our community embraces everyone. I wish you all a happy and healthy new year!
