JFCS is excited to announce two new positions to its Executive Leadership Team. What are you looking forward to about the Chief HR and Administrative Officer position?
Howard: After nine years in Career Services in program delivery, it’s exciting to learn more about operations at the agency, and to help ensure we continue to grow and evolve while still keeping the heart of what makes JFCS so special. In my role, I will oversee the reception, facilities, information technology, and human resources staff who all work to ensure JFCS is a great place to work and a welcoming place for our clients and participants.
Having worked at JFCS many years, what do you enjoy most about the agency?
I know it’s cliché, but it really is the people. The staff and volunteers at JFCS truly care about the work they do and all the ways, big and small, they can make a difference in someone’s life. That care and compassion also comes through in how we treat each other. We celebrate the good times together and support each other in the troubling times. I’ve had several staff say to me that they feel like they can be their authentic selves here, and that is the highest compliment.
Anything else you would like to add?
I think this is an exciting time for JFCS! As Amy Weiss and I move into our new roles, we have created openings for two Program Directors in the agency. These changes in leadership will help bring new ideas and fresh eyes on the work we do and our value to the community. I think change is invigorating and I can’t wait to see what the future brings.
