JFCS recognizes its amazing volunteers during April’s National Volunteer Month
By Dana Shapiro • Community & Volunteer Engagement Manager
Spring is in the air and you know what that means – April is National Volunteer Month and we are celebrating volunteers all month long. Please check out our social media pages on Facebook and Instagram to see videos featuring different volunteers, posted each week throughout the month.
As JFCS’ Community & Volunteer Engagement Manager, I get the pleasure of promoting JFCS in the community while also recruiting, onboarding, tracking, communicating with, connecting to staff, and recognizing our wonderful volunteers. JFCS has a group of 20+ staff who meet with me throughout the year and work tirelessly behind the scenes to make our many volunteer opportunities and appreciation events possible. This group of volunteer coordinators is passionate about engaging with volunteers and providing support to help make them feel valued in our community.
We are very proud to report that JFCS engaged 815 new and returning volunteers through over 100 volunteer opportunities in 2022. A heartfelt thank you to all our volunteers! We are lucky to have such wonderful volunteers of all ages who help support many JFCS programs throughout the year in both short-term and long-term volunteer opportunities. We know there are so many things that fill your days and weeks so please know that we don’t take for granted that you choose to spend your time, talents, and resources with us. I truly believe that JFCS has the best volunteers!
JFCS volunteers do so much to positively impact the work we do to help the Jewish and non-Jewish communities. As our volunteer offerings have continued to evolve, we are appreciative of the response we get from those reaching out to help, and are grateful to have such dedicated volunteers we can count on during times of need. We offer many volunteer opportunities and you can check out our volunteer page any time or reach out to me directly.
We hope you will plan to join us for this year’s Volunteer Appreciation Event on Wednesday, May 17, from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at Sebastian Joe’s – click here for more information and to RSVP!
